Choosing a PG near Christ University Yeshwanthpur Campus — what to check before you pay

The best PG near Christ University Yeshwanthpur Campus is one whose rent covers electricity and meals, whose deposit terms and lock-in are in writing before you pay, and that is a genuine walk from campus by road. Check those seven things below before booking anywhere — including with us.

Most PG listings near the Yeshwanthpur campus look alike: furnished rooms, food, Wi-Fi, a photo of a bed. The differences are in the details that come up after you've paid the deposit. Here's what's worth asking any PG before you book — and how we answer each question at Infinity Space, so you have something to compare against.

1. What does the rent actually include?

Ask for a single number that covers everything, then ask what isn't in it. Electricity is the usual surprise — some places bill it separately from a sub-meter, and in a Bengaluru summer that adds up.

At Infinity Space: ₹20,000 a month for a single room and ₹16,000 per person for double sharing. That covers the furnished room, electricity, meals, Wi-Fi, housekeeping and laundry.

2. How much is the deposit, and how do you get it back?

A deposit you have to chase at the end of the year is a deposit you may not see again. Ask how it's returned, not just how much it is.

At Infinity Space: two months' rent — ₹40,000 for single, ₹32,000 for double. It isn't refunded at the end; it's adjusted against your April and May rent, so you pay no rent for those two months.

3. Is there a minimum stay?

Many PGs have a lock-in and only mention it at signing. Find out before you visit.

At Infinity Space: 12 months — it lines up with the deposit arrangement above.

4. How far is it, really?

"Near campus" can mean anything. Ask for the walking distance by road, not a straight line on a map, and walk it once at the time you'd leave for class.

At Infinity Space: we're on Andrahalli Main Road, HMT Layout — about 850 m by road from Christ University Yeshwanthpur Campus, roughly a 10 minute walk. A supermarket, a pharmacy and a hospital are all within about 600 m.

5. What's the food like, and when is it served?

Ask how many meals a day, whether it's cooked on site, and what happens on weekends — that's where most PG kitchens cut back.

At Infinity Space: four meals a day Monday to Friday, cooked on site — breakfast, lunch, evening snacks and dinner. Saturday is breakfast and lunch only. Sunday is back to a full day.

6. What are the rules?

Curfew, visitors and guests are the rules that affect daily life most. Ask for them plainly, and ask whether there's any flexibility.

At Infinity Space: we're a gents-only PG. Male visitors are allowed. There's an 11 pm curfew, and later nights are possible with a parent's permission.

7. Can you visit before you book?

Photos only show what the owner chose to photograph. A PG that won't let you or your parents see the room first is telling you something.
